Why did we decide to move?
Sometimes (maybe most of the time) you don’t want to see the bitter truth until it hits you.
On March 2020 my mother past away, after suffering for months in the hospital. She was sick for 17 years, but the last 3 years of her life were really bad.
When my mother past away the whole world became completely crazy and chaotic.
Many absolute truths were not so true anymore, and my whole perception of the world as I knew it completely changed.
After crazy 2 years that the whole world went through, Roi as a real estate entrepreneur in the states, had to fly to Arkansas.
That trip was a game changer. He got an appetite (for all of us) to leave the country and explore new places and adventures.
Since we’ve been together we managed to bring 4 beautiful souls into the world, but we went abroad only one time.
We went to Greece to celebrate my mom’s 60th birthday (we didn’t know it would be the last one we’ll celebrate together).
Honestly, I was really fed up with the broken education system in our country, the wars, the difficulty, the high taxes and the extreme high cost of living in our country and after a whole school year sending my kids to school with the masks on all day, not letting them breathe… I had enough. When Roi talked about starting a new adventure I was all for it.
Roi actually meant that we’ll move to the states so we’d be closer to our business but from where we come from we need to have a visa in order to come to the states and because of all the lockdowns, it was very hard to schedule a meeting with the USA embassy and that meant waiting for several months.
When that came into mind I realised that we need somewhere else in the meantime because we’ve been through so much stress and we must have some air to breathe.
In our real estate community we used to have a weekly zoom meeting where we shared our thoughts and there was a beautiful woman that I didn’t know, she always joined the calls and it was always full of light and she was radiant happy when for us it was dark at 9pm and a chilly weather. She shared she’s happily living in Costa Rica. I contacted her and started asking her about that magical place, she was more than happy to help and advise and it was obvious – we should go to Costa Rica!
Roi was very doughtful in the beginning since we’ve never been there or researched about it. We started calling people who lives there or lived there. We began to make a lot of research and suddenly everywhere I looked Costa Rica appeared, when I saw a lecture suddenly the lecturer mentioned Costa Rica. I did a yoga class with an amazing instructor I follow on YouTube and she moved to Costa Rica, I read a book I wanted to read for a long time and there was a story about Costa Rica. I saw green lights everywhere to do the move.
And so we did it! On September 29 we landed in San Jose.
This city is pretty shocking and the energies are very condensed. But after two days we rented a car and started seeing the REAL Costa Rica. The nature, the huge wild nature, the animals, you immediately become humble and understand that you are a guest in this world. Nature is present and you go back to feeling a deep connection to it.
